Salvation is not of work – it is faith in Jesus:

John 6:28-29, "Then they said to Him (Jesus), ‘What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?’ Jesus answered and said to them, ‘This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life".

Acts 16:30-31, "And he brought them out and said, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household’".

Justified means to be made right with God, the “law” is the Ten Commandments and all the other laws that tell people how to act and what to do:

Romans 3:20-22, "Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God which is through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all who believe."

Romans 3:28, "Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law."

Romans 5:1-2, "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand…"

Galatians 2:16, "knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified".

Galatians 3:11, "But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for ‘The just shall live by faith.’"

Grace is what God has and gives to us, not because it was deserved, but because He wants to give it to us – like a present given for no reason:

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved though faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Titus 3:4-5, "But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit."

1 John 5:1;4, "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God…for whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith."
