"For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” – 2 Chronicles 16:9

What an amazing thought! Think – right now, the eyes of the God who is all-powerful is looking throughout the entire earth, searching for those whose hearts are completely His.

He’s not looking for hearts who believe in Him – even Satan believes in Him. Believing in God is easy – everyone believes, everyone prays, everyone sees the wonders of the heavens. No – He is looking for those who do more than just believe. He is looking for those whose hearts are completely His.

What does that mean – to have a heart that is completely God’s? Those who God would find, not only believe in Him and in His Son whom He sent to die for us, but they place their trust in Him. The adage, “Put your money where you mouth is” is appropriate here. In other words, it’s easy to say you believe, now show it with your actions. It’s easy to say you’re Christian, now prove it.

What things have you done to show that you trust in God? Are you doing those things you know He needs you to do or are you staying at a comfortable distance - close enough to see God, but far enough to hide if the going gets tough? To trust God means that you do those things He calls you to do, even though you know it will cause you hardships and difficulties - those things that could cause you to lose your friends, your job, your home. It means risking everything even though you already know you can’t do it – but you are doing it anyway because you trust that God is able to do it for you, because you know that He will strongly support you.

God is searching for hearts that are His. He’s looking at your heart right now. What does He see?
